Avalon Yacht Club Wedding | Caitlin & Drew

Who doesn’t love the beach? For us it’s always been a place for family to come together and create life long memories, which is exactly what happened at Caitlin & Drew’s Avalon Yacht Club Wedding in New Jersey. Their family welcomed us with open arms, which gave us an inside look at how deeply in love these two are. Caitlin’s uncle is in one of the best bands in Philly, Masquerade, and they gave us an extra special performance that tore the house down (almost literally, the floor was seriously shaking!). Side note: you know a venue is legit when there are multiple parking spots strictly labeled: ‘Commandeurs Only.’ Well, unfortunately we are not official commandeurs, so we had to park in a civilian spot :( Band/DJ: Masquerade /// Florist: Blooms /// Caterer: Avalon Yacht Club /// Dress: Sadie’s Bridal /// Invitations: David’s Bridal /// Cake: Stock’s Bakery (Philadelphia) /// Favors: Laura’s Fudge

Welkinweir Wedding by Robert Ryan | Sarah & Andy

It’s no secret that we love any wedding venue designed by Robert Ryan, so Lincoln and I were super excited to check out the Welkinweir wedding venue. Tucked deep in the woods of Chester County, this mystical arboretum/mansion is in the heart of a 197 acre conservation preserve. It also happens to be 15 minutes from our house, which is always a bonus! We showed up early to location scout, and as the trails felt like a fairytale as we wound deeper and deeper into the woods. We turned around before we got eaten by the big bad wolf! Now on to Sarah & Andy – where do we start? They had planned about a dozen different surprises for their parents and guests, and everybody loved it! Instead of a first dance, they sang a top secret piano duet dedicated to their parents. Incredible! Sarah and her girls performed the ‘Go Ninja Go Ninja Go’ dance from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2, which was pulled off flawlessly. The dining included many family recipes from their childhoods, which really brought back the memories. The list goes on, and it took a lot of effort for us to keep the surprises quiet! We polished off the night with some delicious carrot cake from The Master’s Baker. Also, we certainly owe a thank you to one of Robert Ryan’s event managers: Barbara for ensuring absolute perfection across the entire day! The was our first time at the venue, but we’ll be back soon enough for Brian & Sarita’s Welkinweir wedding this October :)

Penn State Berks Engagement Session in Reading, PA | Michelle & Mark

Michelle and Mark are our kind of people. They met at the greatest place in the world: Penn State! If you’re a true blog stalker, then you may know that Lincoln and I also met at Penn State. Usually the campus is buzzing with activity, but during the summer time everything winds down, so we basically had the whole campus to ourselves! We love the shot of Michelle and Mark in front of Oakmoss dorm, which is where they shared so many college memories together. Their wedding plans for next June are already sounding pretty epic, as evident in their amazing save the date below! We can’t wait to see these two again :)

Rockford Park Maternity Session | Jamie & Brian

Most of the time we’re shooting weddings or engagements, but it’s a lot of fun to mix things up with a maternity session! When Jamie and Brian first reached out about a maternity session, we were immediately attracted to how enthusiastic they sounded via email. Now that may sound odd, but we love working with excited clients, so it was a very positive indicator of a fun photoshoot. Fast forward to the maternity session at Rockford Park in Wilmington, Delaware, and we were blown away by how nice, caring, and genuinely fun these two were. They are going to be some seriously awesome parents! Can you believe she’s 33 weeks pregnant in these photographs!? She looks absolutely incredible! Basically, she’s the girl that makes every other pregnant lady jealous. Also, Jamie and Brian are patient enough to wait until the baby is born to learn the gender. This is certainly one of life’s big surprises, but when Lincoln and I had Violet we simply could not resist and found out her gender as soon as we could! Anyway, that’s enough rambling: as you’ll see below, Rockford Park in Delaware was an absolute gem for this maternity session.

Yardley Engagement Session | Sue & Mike

We love Sue & Mike. Although, admittedly we’ll say that about anyone that finishes a shoot by handing us a delicious local growler of beer, but in this case that is not the only reason we love them (not even close!). These two love birds live in the quaint town of Yardley, and from what we gather they love every minute of it. After Lincoln and I finished obsessing over their perfectly manicured yard, we went to the Delaware River and were quite surprised (read: flabbergasted) when a ‘bridge security guard’ told us that we were supposed to get consent to take pictures with the bridge. Uh, what? Well, we escaped without jail time, and Sue & Mike invited us into their favorite local spot, Vault Brewing, where they were serious VIPs. At the end of the session, all four of us were grinning from ear to ear with some beer left to drink, which is hopefully where we’ll pick things back up at their wedding next year!
