Cork Factory Hotel Wedding in Lancaster, PA | Jen & John

A 19th century factory converted into a chic Cork Factory Hotel wedding venue in Lancaster, PA; it doesn’t get much cooler than that. We first met Jen and John when we did their engagement session at Valley Forge National Park last year and they were a little camera shy at first – but you would never believe it when you look through their wedding photos. And that, my friends, is why engagement sessions are so clutch!

Jen and John had a traditional Greek Orthodox ceremony during which Jen provided some comic relief for us all. Let’s just say the entire bridal party (and Lincoln and I!) were cracking up at Jen’s select choice of words when the Best Man snagged her hair during the crowning of the couple. Their reactions were priceless (see photos of priceless reactions) ;)

Our magic weather swaying powers must have failed us this time because it started raining within 10 minutes after the ceremony began, but they didn’t let a little bit of rain put a damper on their day (sorry…bad joke). Anyways, everyone had an awesome time exploring the interior of the Cork Factory Hotel wedding and staying dry while partying all night all at the same time. And that takes talent.

Greystone Hall Wedding in West Chester, PA| Liz & Sean

Some couples have a certain indescribable glow about them; it took us about 2 seconds to realize Liz & Sean had it. Liz works as a Buyer for David’s Bridal (can’t you tell by how AMAZING her dress is??) and Sean is a creatively talented artist. Yeah, they were a pretty good match for us ;) We frequent Greystone Hall a lot and it’s turned into one of our favorite places. Whenever we revisit a venue we put a big focus on crafting unique images to ensure the end product is one-of-a-kind. In this case, Liz was brave enough to trek all the way across the estate to the pergola. She also won the Bartlett Pair trophy for most epic never-ending veil (the maid of honor had the high pressure task of handling the veil without ripping out Liz’s hair!). Once again, our magical powers swayed the 100% rain forecast, which allowed a beautiful outdoor sun-soaked ceremony. Enjoy!

Spring Garden Philadelphia Engagement Session | Megan & Tom

Megan & Tom live in a quaint neighborhood of Philadelphia called Spring Garden (right around the corner from one of our favorite wedding venues: Vie). When Megan opened the door to greet us for the engagement session, we were pleasantly surprised when an adorable little puppy dog named Diamond came bounding out the door, which ultimately resulted in me trying to convince Lincoln that we should buy another dog for the entire ride home. We then roamed the local urban blocks to experience a day-in-the-life with these two: taking Diamond for a walk, checking out Cafe L’Aube, dinner at Alla Spina, and getting cozy against a stone wall (ok, maybe we encouraged that last one). Oh, and see that magnificently elegant red dress that Megan is wearing? There’s a wild story behind it: it is an old white wedding dress that was discovered in an attic and then dyed red. I didn’t know stuff like that actually happened…why can’t I unearth such treasure?? Overall, we’re keeping our fingers crossed that all (or at least most!) of our 2014 couples are as friendly and fun as Megan & Tom; you’ll be seeing them again in October for their Greystone Hall wedding!

Cescaphe Down Town Club Wedding in Philadelphia| Kristin & Mike

Lincoln and I always look forward to any of Cescaphe’s Philadelphia wedding venues, which are all dripping in upscale trendy class. So when we heard they were building a new venue we immediately started counting down the days to our first Cescaphe Down Town Club wedding. When the week finally came, we eagerly checked the weather forecasts each day, and when all signs point to cold and rainy sometimes your only hope is to keep your fingers (+ toes) crossed. My webbed toes must have some magical powers, because this time it actually worked! We felt like celebrities roaming around Independence Hall on the way to the Down Town Club wedding ceremony and reception. You know David Tutera’s My Fair Wedding, where everything seems to go ridiculously smoothly and ends up looking like a fairy tale no matter what? Well that pretty much sums up the entire Cescaphe Event Group. Specifically, Cescaphe’s maitre d’s Emily and Sal were outrageously helpful in ensuring a once-in-a-lifetime wedding experience at Cescaphe’s Down Town Club Philadelphia. The ever so talented Cheekadee Makeup team had everyone looking spectacular and EBE Entertainment kept the dance floor packed all night. Kristin & Mike were so much fun to be around (no bridezilla here!) and were so generous in caring for all of their guests. We left with smiles on our faces (and as many to-go cupcakes/pretzels as we could hold).

Philadelphia Marriott Downtown Courtyard Wedding | Colleen & Mike

Talk about an awesome couple. Upon meeting Col and Monty (which we are totally allowed to call them!), we knew they were one of those couples that was going to be an absolute blast to work with. We were right. The entire day was fun and relaxed, and they were so sweet and photogenic to boot! The ceremony was absolutely stunning at St. Augustine Church in Philly, Colleen looked so amazing with her retro veil and absolutely gorgeous lace dress. Colleen and Mike just lit up around each other and portraits were a breeze as they were so natural and constantly smiling and laughing with each other. The Philadelphia Marriott Downtown Courtyard wedding ballroom was the perfect setting for the ridiculously fun evening. We got to learn more about the two of them through the maid of honor and best man speeches…and the costumed friends/family that showed up throughout the night. To say they are a fun couple is an understatement. We were with them for 10 hours, but the time absolutely flew by and by the end of the night we were sad to go! Here are some of our favorite shots from the day.
