A dream wedding day in a totally gorgeous setting
Alexis and Charlie chose the perfect wedding venue. Everything was absolutely stunning. We started the wedding day on a tucked away little bridge at Historic Shady Lane for Alexis and Charlie’s first look and portraits. As wedding photographers, we were mesmerized by the unique property, complete with historic stone backdrops, forests and gardens and a gorgeous glass greenhouse. Their wedding ceremony took place in front of the breathtaking greenhouse. Alexis, Charlie and their guests enjoyed every minute of the cocktail hour, overlooking the naturally landscaped grounds at this alluring stone retreat. Their indoor-outdoor reception allowed their guests to enjoy time with the bridal party on the patio under the twinkle lights and dance all night under the white frame tent, complete with a beautiful backdrop. Countless guests commented about the incredible venue, and the evening ended with a magical celebration under the reception tent!

Historic stone backdrops for the perfect outdoor wedding experience
Historic Shady Lane is a 220-year-old estate with a rich history. The property was originally owned by the Hake family, who built a distillery on the site in 1790. The Kohrs began by restoring the 1825 farmhouse, which is now the busy center of activity for their four sons. They also fully refurbished the 1770 distillery, which is now a private residence. The Brownstone Cottage, which was built in 1911 by Frederick Small for his spinster sister, now serves as a venue for events and small parties. Starting in 2012, the Kohr family began opening the estate to over 60 couples to host their weddings. The history is so lovely and adds so much depth to the wedding venue.
